Excellent Cantonese food, for a restaurant in northern China. The decor is nothing to write home about, but enjoying dim sum at Tang Palace is a great way to spend any Sunday afternoon in Beijing.

This restaurant came on a recommendation from a Cantonese friend for their dim sum. After 4-5 trips it has not failed to impress. Although the restaurant is located inside the relatively posh New Century Hotel, the actual dining area is unpretentious, letting the Cantonese cuisine take center stage. The almond flavored swallow's nest soup is particularly delightful.
