A powerhouse of a menu that has taken years to fully explore, Rainbow Cloud Room is a true hidden gem of Beijing. Must tries include the fried bananas, pineapple rice, fried mushrooms, crispy garlic beef, chili stewed beef, stir fried egg and tomato, lemongrass chicken, and sweet rice wine poured from a bamboo decanter. Patterned moxibustion marks along the necks and arms of the wait staff mix with surprising and imaginative tattoo work to create unique body art that round out one of the most pleasant and down-to-earth dining experiences to be had in Beijing. Always bustling, the Rainbow Cloud room has only three tables to accommodate larger parties, so if you're planning on bringing friends it's best to call ahead.

This restaurant has some of the best food in Beijing. I always bring out of town friends here. I can't in good conscience give it a 5 because they can't seem to control their cockroach problem, it lacks full-featured bathroom facilities, and there is no English or picture menu.
