Opened by a Chinese movie star, this unique restaurant always seems to be packed with a hip young Beijing clientèle. While decent Thai dishes can be ordered à la carte, the real attraction at Lemon Leaf is the Thai hotpot. Both the hot pot soup base and the dippin' sauce have distinct spicy and tangy Thai options, which we heartily endorse. This is an ideal restaurant for introducing hotpot to skeptical foreign audiences not used to cooking their food on the table in front of them.

This is one of the best introductions to hot pot for foreigners in Beijing and probably all of China. The Thai flavors in the soup base are more familiar to the occidental palette, but the experience is quintessentially Chinese hot pot.
