Vegetables masquerade as exquisite meat dishes, beer is sans alcohol, cats and dogs fall in love with each other, and nothing is as it seems at this small, slightly over-the-top vegetarian restaurant nestled on 3rd floor of the Disanji building in Zhongguancun. Complimentary chunks of fresh watermelon are rendered all the more mysterious when served in nested lotus glasses seething with dry ice. Dishes carry Chinese names so euphemistic as to obscure any possibility of figuring out what their ingredients are (probably why they list them out for you on the enormous menu.) The tome of a menu is divided into set meals named for the four seasons or more pedestrian à la carte options.
